The 2019 karting season is now in full swing and Praga South Africa will be on track again this weekend. This time, the team will be at Zwartkops Raceway for the second round of the Northern Regions Rotax Max championship.
The team will field two Bambino entries. Troy van der Laan had a good outing a few weeks ago and will be looking to continue his form, whilst it will be Mattao Mason’s first race for the season and his progress will be watched with interest.
The action in Micro Max is expected to be frenetic and Praga will be represented by 5 very competent young drivers. Mohammed Moerat is looking good in the championship standings after claiming at hat-trick of wins at the last event. He will be back in action on Saturday.
Kyle Beukes has now had a taste of podium glory and will be going all out to repeat this performance. Another driver to watch will be Erich Heystek, who finished in the top 6 last time around.
Kent Swartz had a fantastic outing at Vereeniging and will be another podium contender. Caleb Cotterell will be the team’s final entry for the weekend and is expected to continue to grow in confidence.
Taya van der Laan will be the rose amongst the “thorns” in Mini Max. She also had a good first round and is expected to be mixing it up in the top five.
Godfrey Malumane is progressing nicely in Junior Max and finished well within the top ten at the beginning of the month. There is no doubt that he will continue to improve and gain pace.
Dane van Heerde will round out the team’s entry list. He will be taking on the Senior Max pack and will definitely be a front runner. Dane took three podium finishes last time out.
The racing is expected to be as hot as the weather and Praga South Africa will be well represented by some very talented young drivers.
