The final round of the 2019 South African Rotax Max final proved to be a challenging event for Praga.
Micro Max was fairly competitive and both Praga entries found themselves challenging in the front packs.
Mohammed Moerat had a tough qualifying session and only managed to set the 7th fastest lap time. He became embroiled in a four kart fight for fourth place and eventually finished 6th. Mohammed had a great second heat, waiting until the penultimate lap of the race to blast his way into 3rd place. He finished 6th in race three and was back up to 3rd for the final race. Mohammed ended the day 5th overall.
Erich Heystek was in the thick of the action all day. He qualified 5th and was up to fourth at one stage of the race. The on track action was intense and Erich eventually crossed the line in 7th place. He took 6th in heat two, before ending both remaining races in 5th spot. Erich finished 7th in the overall standings.
Tyler Robinson had her work cut out for her in Mini Max and close racing resulted in a bump or two. She qualified in 9th and crossed the finish line 8th in the first race. She had an action packed second race and finished 9th. Tyler took another 9th place finish in heat three and ended the final race in 8th position. She was ranked 9th overall for the day.
Dane van Heerde put in a consistent performance in Senior Max. He qualified 9th and held this position to the flag. He lost some ground at the start of race two, when a bump resulted in the Praga driver spinning off circuit. He drifted his kart across the grass, somehow corrected it to face the right direction and landed up back on the circuit and racing, albeit a few places back. He ended the race in 12th place. Dane finished 9th in race three and 7th in the final heat of the day. His performance placed him 8th overall.
Praga will be in action at Zwartkops again this weekend at the Northern Regions Rok Cup.
