The final round of the 2019 Northern Regions Rok Cup will be taking place at the Vaal Kart Circuit this weekend (9 November). The championships are going down to the wire and Praga are looking to bring home some more silverware.
Kid Rok:
Luke Hill currently leads the Kid Rok points table and will be hoping to secure his 3rd Championship title for the year. With a lead of only 7 points, this championship fight is far from over and Luke will be under some extreme pressure in his last Kid Rok event.
Some of the pressure will be coming from teammate, Goran Gruben. The Praga driver has had a good season and finds himself 3rd in the title chase. He is still chasing a race win in the class.
Keagan Beaumont is 5th in the point’s standings and needs to make up 10 points to move up a position. He took a race win last time out, so his confidence will be at an all-time high.
Reagile Mailula has taken 5 race wins this season, but after missing out on 2 championship rounds, finds himself down in 6th position and out of championship contention. The talented youngster will be one to watch next year.
Tyler Repsold will be turning up the heat and putting Reagile under some pressure. He is only 6 points behind in 7th place and could really use the confidence boost after a rollercoaster season.
Troy van der Laan joined the class mid-season and has really made huge strides. He is on the pace and after a great set of results at the last round, can be expected to be running in the top 5.
Angelo Brachini will round out the very strong Praga entry in Kid Rok and will be looking to repeat his July podium performance.
Mini Rok:
Praga will field 3 entries in Mini Rok, with EC Ensor-Smith leading the charge. KC has taken 5 race wins this season, but some bad luck has seen him lose valuable points. He will be racing for a 3rd place finish in the championship.
Luke Hill’s rookie season in the class is about to come to an end and he looks set to finish in the top 10. Whilst this in itself is a fantastic achievement, he will also be aiming to win the under 10 championship, which could possibly give him 4 titles this season.
Ashton Repsold has gained some valuable experience this season and has grown in leaps and bounds. He is 14th in the points, but a good set of results could see him climb a position or two.
OKJ:
Whilst the championship title has already been won, 2nd place is still up for grabs. Jarrod Waberski will be pushing hard to claim this position, but it is going to be a tough challenge, as he will have to make up a 19 point deficit. Anything can happen though and this is going to be an exciting race.
Alessio Angelucci will be back in action and will be looking to end his 2019 season on a high note. He is just outside the top 10 in the point’s log, despite missing two race events.
Taya van der Laan isn’t really in the championship fight, after joining the class mid-year. She has, however, improved at every race and will be using this event to prepare for the 2020 season.
