It has been four months since the Praga South Africa Rotax Max team have raced at their home circuit, but that will change this weekend (8 June 2019) as drivers head to the Vaal Kart Circuit for round four of the Northern Regions Championship.
Troy van der Laan has finished on the podium in every Bambino race this season and will be hoping to claim another race win. Troy is currently second in the championship standings.
More frenetic action is expected in Micro Max, where Praga will field four entries.
Mohammed Moerat is on a winning streak, having claimed all nine race wins this season. If he can withstand the pressure, he can increase that count this weekend. Mohammed has a solid 27 point lead in the championship.
Erich Heystek is third in the point standings and continues to produce good results. He will be looking to close the point’s deficit and come home with another podium finish.
Kyle Beukes is not far behind in fourth. He took a second place finish in one of the races at VKC earlier this year and will be aiming to repeat this feat.
Caleb Cotterell is making steady progress in the class and it won’t be long before he is racing amidst the front runners. He is currently seventh in the championship.
Taya van der Laan was very impressive in the last event, charging to a podium finish in the last heat. She is sixth in the championship standings, with only a four point deficit to fifth.
Godfrey Malumane will be back in action in Junior Max and will be using the opportunity to further improve his pace and race craft in the very challenging class.
Dane van Heerde is a driver to watch in Senior Max. He has finished on the podium in every race this season and is tied second in the championship. It’s still anyone’s game and he is well in the running.
Ian Allnut had a tough outing last time around and this will be his first race at the Vereeniging circuit this season. He will use it as a learning curve as he continues to compete in the premier DD2 class.
